“Prior planning prevents pathetically poor performance” - the 6 P’s of life. This motto has been a part of my entire life one way or another. Moving to The Valley of the Sun as a young 19-year old with my family in 1992 from Fairfax VA, the opportunities were endless. I started my career in the financial service industry in 1994 with a desire to put myself through college and make a living. I began working as a bank teller and attended Scottsdale Community College at night where I studied Communications with a business emphasis. In 1998, I enrolled at the University of Phoenix, and in 2000 I was awarded my Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
My career has been focused on customer service for two important reasons. One, I enjoy it! Truly I do! Two, I am good at it. I worked my way through college and worked my way up to become an Assistant Operations Manager at a local community bank. Over the next 18 years I was able to buy my first home, I met and married my husband Keith, and became a mother to three wonderful children: Kaylee, Paula and Shawn.
In 2009, I was blessed with an opportunity to step away from working outside the home and became a stay-at-home mom as a way to help my husband focus on his small business. During these 14 years, I had the opportunity to volunteer at my children’s elementary school. I helped with a variety of activities including setting up class parties, decorating bulletin boards, chaperoning field trips, fundraising and helping plan PTO events. I worked to teach my family the importance of giving back to the community by volunteering. I also sharpened my time management skills and became a master problem-solver. This time at home allowed me to be available for my family in a way that was priceless.
While I enjoyed the time at home, I desired more from my career. In 2019, I re-entered the workforce and became an administrative assistant at my children’s elementary school. However, I missed the financial services industry. In 2020, I came back to financial service where I became a Client Service Specialist at a local financial services firm. My various life experiences have brought me full circle to my new role and team at Barton Spector Wealth Strategies.
As a family, we have enjoyed camping, the joy of all things with horsepower and attending sporting events - taking our children to which ever sport they wanted to experience and participate in. Our son holds two black-belts in Kung-fu and continues to learn more. Our middle daughter is playing piano and really likes to showcase her skills. Our oldest daughter is about to embark on her dream to become a doctor by attending the University of Arizona with an academic scholarship. We could not be prouder of their accomplishments!
When I am not at work, you will find me with my children, repurposing something old, crafting, gardening, or just enjoying life. Keith and I purchased our forever home in 2018, and we spend most of our time just soaking up the peacefulness of our beautiful backyard and laughing with our kids.
